Quake jolts southwestern Japan, no damage reported
TOKYO (AFP) Apr 06, 2004 An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale shook southwestern Japan Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, officials said.
The quake occurred at 7:51 am (2251 GMT Monday) in Tokushima prefecture, some 550 kilometers (340 miles) southwest of Tokyo, the meteorological agency said.
The focus of the quake was about 10 kilometers deep, it said.
