Earthquake in eastern Romania

An earthquake measuring 4.2 points on the open-ended Richter scale was recorded in eastern Romania early Wednesday, the country's national seismological laboratory said.

There were no reports of damage or casualties in the quake, which occurred deep underground with its epicentre in the Vrancea region, the institute said.

A similar earthquake, with an intensity of 4.3 points on the Richter scale, shook the same region early on Sunday.
