Quake shakes northern Japan
An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook northern Japan Wednesday but there were no immediate reports of damage, officials said.
The quake occurred at 3:12 pm (0612 GMT) in Fukushima, about 200 kilometers (124 miles) north of Tokyo, with its focus 70 kilometers (43 miles) below the seabed, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
