Woman missing as flash flood hits Algerian town

Rescue workers in the Algerian town of Naama were looking for a woman who was swept away by floodwaters after a sudden rainstorm on Wednesday, the Algerian Press Agency (APS) said.The rescue teams were able to save a man from the floods, which occurred after a sudden storm in the region, some 550 kilometers (330 miles) southwest of the capital Algiers. Earlier in the week a total of four people died in floods in other Algerian regions, around the town of Ghardaia on Sunday and Tebessa on Tuesday, according to media reports.
