Easyjet plane damaged by hailstorm, returns to Geneva

A London-bound Easyjet passenger plane carrying 123 passengers limped back to Geneva Saturday after being severely hit by hail shortly after take-off, Geneva airport spokesman Jean-Luc Portier said.

The plane suffered major damage in the storm, he said, adding that he had not seen anything similar in his 20-year career in the airline business.

The plane returned to Geneva airport after flying through the hailstorm 10 minutes into the flight to London's Luton airport.
