China says two SARS cases confirmed, two suspected
BEIJING (AFP) Apr 23, 2004
China's Ministry of Health Friday reported two confirmed SARS cases and two suspected cases, one of whom has died.

The confirmed cases are in Beijing and eastern Anhui province and the two suspected cases are in the same places.

The ministry, on its website, said that the confirmed case in the Chinese capital was a suspected case first reported Thursday. Since then, another suspected case had emerged, it said.

In Anhui, the suspected case died on April 19 but the cause of death was not clear. The dead woman was the mother of the case that is now confirmed.
