Danish Vestas lands third US wind turbine order
COPENHAGEN (AFP) Mar 15, 2005
Vestas Wind Systems, the world's leading producer of wind turbines, said on Tuesday it had received its third large order for V80 1.8-megawatt wind turbines from the United States this month.

The Danish company said it would deliver 83 of the wind turbines to the Hopkins Ridge Wind Facility in Columbia County in Washington state.

Earlier this month, Vestas landed a contract for 84 wind turbines for a wind farm in Oklahoma and another contract for 67 turbines for a farm in Texas.

Delivery of the last batch of wind turbines to Washington state was to begin in August and their commissioning was set for December.

No value was disclosed for the deal, but Vestas said the order would not affect its outlook for 2005.

Vestas stock gained five kroner on the Copenhagen stock exchange on Tuesday, closing at 87 kroner (15.55 dollars, 11.70 euros) a share.
