Sweden, Norway set up 3.6-million dlr ADB fund for environment
MANILA (AFP) Jul 22, 2003
Norway and Sweden have set up a joint 3.6 million dollar poverty and environment fund to be administered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the bank said Tuesday.

Norway and Sweden will initially contribute 2.35 million dollars and 1.25 million dollars, respectively, to the fund over three years, the Manila-based ADB said.

The fund would help finance pilot "environmental interventions that reduce poverty or help poor people to contribute to environmental management," said Rolf Zelius, chief of the ADB's regional and sustainable development department.
