Four killed, four missing in landslide in southern Nepal

At least four people were killed and another four were missing Wednesday following a landslide in southern Nepal, state-run radio said.

The early morning landslide swept away three houses in Chandibhyang village in Chitwan district, the radio said.

Three boys and one girl were also missing after the landslide crushed the house of their father, Tul Bahadur Praja, it said. Praja and his wife were injured.

A police-led relief team was sent to the area.

Landslides are common in Nepal's summer, as snow melts in the Himalayas and lowland areas are hit by monsoon rains. On Saturday, a family of five was killed in a mudslide in the western district of Gulmi.
