Hurricane Nora heads away from Mexico, as Tropical Storm Larry weakens
MEXICO CITY (AFP) Oct 04, 2003
Tropical Storm Nora grew into a category-one hurricane overnight, bringing heavy cloud cover over Mexico's Pacific coastline as it moved away from the country early Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Larry was nearly stationary in the Gulf of Mexico, some 150 kilometers (90 miles) north-northeast of Veracruz, as it dumped heavy rains on the area.

As Larry began to fizzle, Tropical Storm Olaf formed in the Pacific on Friday. By early Saturday, Olaf was located some 410 kilometers (255 miles) southwest of the resort town of Acapulco and was moving parallel to the coastline, posing a "moderate danger" to south Mexico, meteorologist Marco Lugo told AFP.
