President Pervez Musharraf wrote to his Indonesian counterpart Megawati Sukarnoputri saying he was "saddened to learn about the tragic loss" caused by flooding on the northwest island of Sumatra.
"I wish to convey my deepest condolences to you as well as my profound sympathies to the members of the bereaved families," Musharraf said in his letter, distributed to the media.
Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali also wrote to Megawati, expressing shock and offering sympathies.
The flood hit the resort town of Bahorok, on the edge of a national park, on Sunday night, killing 109 people, including five foreigners, in the latest death toll and destroying 450 homes or other structures, 35 resort cottages and eight bridges.
Officials have linked the flood on rampant illegal logging in the Gunung Leuser park.
