Quake rocks Taiwan
TAIPEI (AFP) Dec 21, 2003
An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted Taiwan Sunday, but there were no reports of damage or casualties, seismologists said.

The tremor hit at 1:16 pm (0516 GMT) with an epicenter 11.6 kilometers (seven miles) northwest of Taitung, a city in southeastern Taiwan, the Seismology Center said.

The quake, originating 10.8 kilometers under the ground, followed a 6.6-Richter scale earthquake on December 10 which was the most powerful to have hit the island this year but caused only minor damage and injuries in southern Taiwan.
