Landslide kills at least 14 in northern China's Shanxi province

At least 14 people are believed to have died when a landslide in northern China's Shanxi province came tumbling down on a group of houses, state press reported.

The landslide occurred Saturday night in Jingpo village, engulfing five houses belonging to two families, Xinhua news agency said.

Rescue workers have so far only pulled 14 bodies out of the wreckage and are continuing to search for the remaining people, it said.

The cause of the mishap is under investigation.
