BUCHAREST (AFP) Jan 21, 2004 An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale rocked the district of Vrancea in eastern Romania Wednesday but left neither victims nor material damage, the National Institute for Earth Sciences said in Bucharest.
The quake hit shortly before 8:00 a.m. (0600 GMT) at a depth of 132 kilometres (80 miles) in this region in the eastern Carpathian mountains, the institute said, according to a report by the Mediafax news agency.
