Three killed, 10 missing in Indonesian landslide
JAKARTA (AFP) Jan 30, 2004
Three people have been killed and 10 are missing after a landslide hit a district in Indonesia's Central Java province early Friday, police said.

The disaster hit Tlitir village in the district of Purwerejo following heavy rain the previous day, said a policeman, Subardi.

Rescue workers were searching for the 10 people still feared buried in the mud, he said.

The rainy season in Indonesia often brings floods and landslides. A landslide which swept through a small village in West Java earlier this month killed a mother and her three young children.
