French Club Med employee killed by tsunami in Phuket, Thailand: company
PARIS (AFP) Dec 26, 2004
A Frenchman employed by the Club Med resort chain was killed by a tsunami that swept the southern Thai island of Phuket Sunday, the Paris-based company said.

"A French employee who worked in technical services for several years was a victim of the tidal wave and died," Club Med said in a statement.

The name of the man and the exact circumstances of his death was not immediately known.

Thai officials said at least 310 people were killed and scores were missing in southern Thailand when huge waves caused by a massive earthquake off Indonesia devastated seaside resorts packed with foreign tourists.
