BANGKOK (AFP) Sep 29, 2005
Thailand's death toll from Typhoon Damrey rose to seven Thursday, with four still missing, as floods drenched 11 northern provinces, the interior ministry said Thursday.

Three people died in Chiang Mai, and four in Lampang province, the ministry's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said in a statement.

Nearly 18,500 people suffered damages, while 18 bridges and 35 roads were left impassable, it added.

The four missing were all reported in Lampang's Chae Hom district.

The typhoon, which packed winds of up to 200 kilometres (125 miles) per hour pummeled the Philippines, southern China and Vietnam during a week-long sweep before blowing itself out over Laos on Wednesday.

The typhoon also killed 82 people in Vietnam, southern China and the Philippines.
