6.0 magnitude quake hits Alaska

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale rattled a remote region of Alaska early Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake shortly before 4:00 am (1253 GMT) struck in the region of Unimak island some 95 kilometers (60 miles) southwest of the small Alaska village of False Pass.
