BUDAPEST (AFP) Nov 22, 2005
A 15-year-old boy and a 64-year-old man have frozen to death in harsh weather in eastern Hungary, police said Tuesday.

"The boy was found Sunday in the middle of a street in Tunyogmatolcs," police spokesman Fülöp Gergely said.

The boy was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

The 64-year-old man was found frozen to death in his garden Saturday by his neighbors. He also was taken to hospital in vain.

The first winter snow fell in Hungary last week and tempartures plunged to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) in some regions.

Last winter, 316 people, most of them homeless, froze to death in the country.
