![]() MANILA (AFP) Dec 19, 2005 Three more people drowned in widespread flooding in the central Philippines, bringing the death toll to six with nearly 13,000 other residents displaced, rescuers said Monday. Rescuers retrieved the body of a 51 year-old man near the town of Roxas on Palawan island on Sunday, while the body of a young woman and a boy were found on the island of Mindoro. One person was reported missing in the city of Kalibo on Panay island, the civil defense office here said. Three other people drowned in the Bicol peninsula southeast of Manila last weekend as a tropical depression dumped heavy rain on wide areas of the country. The civil defense office said floodwaters had receded on parts of Panay island, allowing displaced residents to return to their water-damaged homes. But parts of Mindoro and Palawan as well as sections of Bicol remained under water, and some 12,782 people were still being housed and fed at government-run centers, said civil defense office deputy administrator Anthony Golez.
