Speeding on ice kills two in France
LILLE, France (AFP) Dec 30, 2005
Two Britons driving at high speed on an ice-slicked highway in northern France were killed Friday when their car ran off the road, police said.

The regional traffic center said the two, a man and a woman, were traveling at more than 200 kilometers (120 miles) an hour, 70 more than the usual motorway speed limit.

Police said the road had been salted but that icy rain was falling at the time of the accident.
