Flash floods kill 24 in Indonesia

Flash floods have killed 24 people in Indonesia's East Java province overnight, a government official said Monday.

"According to information we have received, 24 people have died. We are awaiting further data from people on the ground," said Widada from the disaster coordinating agency in Surabaya, the provincial capital.

Heavy rains have inundated the area since Saturday, he added.
