An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale was detected at 08:32 GMT in the Gulf of California off the Mexican coast, the Strasbourg-based Observatory of Earth Sciences said Wednesday.The epicentre was at a point 28.12 degrees north and 112.1 degrees west off the town of Guaymas, the observatory said.
