Two people were found Thursday after surviving an avalanche in Sweden's far north that was also believed to have swept away a helicopter on the ground, police said."Two missing people have been found. Their injuries are not known," police said in a statement on their website.
Earlier, police spokeswoman Maria Linne told AFP that "unconfirmed preliminary reports" indicated that seven people were involved in the accident and two were missing.
"A helicopter on the ground was swept away in the avalanche" in Abisko national park, she said, citing the unconfirmed reports.
Linne had no information about the nationalities of those involved.
Swedish media said a group of people were heli-skiing -- skiing after being dropped off in a remote spot by helicopter -- in the area when the avalanche occurred.
Both Sweden's and Norway's Joint Rescue Coordination Centres told AFP they had dispatched helicopters to the region to assist in the search.
