A dust storm swept across the US city of Phoenix on Monday, disrupting flights with dark clouds billowing across the airport.
"This monsoon dust isn't messing around... Please be safe!" the City of Phoenix wrote on X, alongside a photo from the airport with the dust in the distance.
The city's international airport reported flight delays due to the storm in the southwestern state of Arizona.
The dust could potentially affect more than two million people, according to a warning issued by the Phoenix chapter of the National Weather Service.
The alert said hazards included "near zero visibility" and "dangerous life-threatening travel."
Dust storms in the United States are most common in the southwest and usually hit suddenly, creating particularly hazardous driving conditions, the National Weather Service said.
