![]() La Jolla based Blue Sky Network is pioneering affordable, global satellite communications for the aviation industry. With turnkey kits starting at $1,995 and monthly service plans starting at $34.95, the company is determined to offer aviation customers unbeatable performance and value in satellite communications. The company is a member of the following aviation associations: Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), Aircraft Owners and Operators Association (AOPA), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Helicopter Association International (HAI). |
"Iridium is the most cost effective provider of worldwide, Pole to Pole, satellite communications. Incorporating calling plans to match, Blue Sky Network intends to mirror that value in aviation with the C-1000 by providing the lowest entry level FAA certified fixed satcom product available," said company president & CEO Jon Gilbert.
"Our C-1000 has all the features and benefits of the Motorola/Iridium quality and service and now we've made it very affordable for business and general aviation," he said.
In addition, Blue Sky Network has just introduced a dual channel antenna affording the opportunity to have two installations in the aircraft with a single punch: typically a portable Iridium phone in the cockpit and the C-1000 fixed installation in the cabin which can be used simultaneously. This gives the customer the ability to have the same benefits of satellite connection on the ground as in the air.
All Blue Sky Network kits include an Iridium specific TSOd antenna (single or dual channel), antenna cable(s) to the remotely mounted satellite modem unit, all mating connectors, and an installation guide. Professional installation, activation and a service plan are required.
