Lanham - Feb 11, 2004
Integral Systems, Inc. has announced a contract with Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (LMCSS) to provide an EPOCH satellite control system for JSAT Corporation's (JSAT) new A2100-based JCSAT-9 satellite. LMCSS' selection of Integral for this contract takes advantage of EPOCH's extensive install base, which includes the operation of five other LMCSS A2100-based satellites by other operators using the exact same EPOCH software.

With this approach, LMCSS is able to reduce both the program cost and risk by using a proven product-based solution. The system will incorporate several elements of Integral Systems' EPOCH product line to provide complete real-time command and control as well as automated scheduling, procedure execution, and offline trending and analysis functions.

In addition to the selection of the EPOCH product, LMCSS has selected Integral's Status and Control (S&C) System for monitoring and controlling the JCSAT-9 ground station antenna and RF equipment. The S&C System will be provided through Integral's Newpoint Technology division of Salem, NH, and it will be based on the COMPASS product.

"We are very excited about this opportunity to work with Lockheed Martin, one of the premiere satellite manufacturing companies in the world, and with JSAT Corporation, the largest satellite operator in the Asia-Pacific region," said Stuart Daughtridge, Vice President of the Commercial Division at Integral Systems.

"Our proven EPOCH system provides LMCSS and JSAT a low-cost, no- risk, proven solution for the JCSAT-9 program that meets, and in many ways exceeds, the program requirements," he added.
