Winchester Ammunition has received a $99.2 million contract from the U.S. Army to deliver .38, .45, and 9mm ammunition.

Winchester's .38-caliber ammunition cartridge was originally developed for use in rifles, but has been reintroduced for pistol use. The company's .45 magnum ammunition was developed for automatic pistols. 9mm ammunition is used in a variety of small arms, and is currently the standard ammunition for NATO forces.

Under the contract, deliveries are expected to be complete by March 2022. Funding and work locations are to be determined with each order.
