Aeroflex Expands Their Radhard MSI Logic Multipurpose Transceiver Family

Aeroflex has released the the UT54ACS164646S 5/3-volt, 16-bit, MultiPurpose Registered Transceiver. The high-speed, voltage translating, latchable bus transceiver offers cold- and warm-sparing with low power consumption for use in applications such as memory and microcontroller interface logic, back-plane interface logic and voltage translation in mixed-power supply systems.

"Customers have been designing our RadHard MSI MultiPurpose Transceivers and MSI Logic products into space applications since 1998. Newer systems require lower propagation delays and faster clock speeds".

While other RadHard MSI Logic suppliers have announced reductions in their product lines, Aeroflex continues to offer product enhancements (higher clock rates, SEU-hardened registers, cold- and warm-sparing I/Os and 3.3V operating voltage) to provide customers with the products they need for their space applications."

The UT54ACS164646S offers features unmatched in the MSI Logic industry such as cold- and warm-sparing, voltage translation, asynchronous two-way communication and signal buffering. With more systems moving to 3-volt power supplies for speed and power improvements, we designed the UT54ACS164646S as both 5-volt and 3-volt compatible.

The UT54ACS164646S is built using Aeroflex's UT0.6mm technology and withstands ionizing doses of 100Krads(Si), is immune to single event induced latch-up and is characterized over a temperature range of -55oC to +125oC. The UT54ACS164646S features are a perfect fit for various satellite applications.

The QML Q and V compliant UT54ACS164646S will be available via a Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) in a 56-lead flatpack. The UT54ACS164646S is $400.00 in QML Q lots of 100 with prototypes available 3Q06 and production units in 4Q06.
