The MoU with GSSTI was formalized during NIHONBASHI SPACE WEEK 2025 in Japan on October 29, witnessed by Ghana's Ambassador to Japan, Genevieve Edna Apaloo, who expressed expectations for future developments. GSSTI operates under Ghana's Atomic Energy Commission to advance space science and technology for national socioeconomic benefit. RCMRD, established in Kenya, provides geo-information and related technologies for sustainable development across African nations.
Through these agreements, Axelspace will collaborate with partners in Ghana and Kenya to develop and implement solutions focused on agriculture, environmental conservation, disaster management, climate response, urban planning, and infrastructure. Axelspace will supply Earth observation data and operational expertise, while local agencies will facilitate data utilization frameworks involving local companies. The primary objective is to pinpoint key social problems and deliver tailored solutions by merging satellite-derived insights with local information to advance applications of Earth observation in these regions.
